By now most of us around the world are aware of the COVID-19 outbreak. This disease began its journey in the Wuhan province of China, infecting thousands of people and slowly moving across borders where it eventually began to grow exponentially. Thousands more have died since the outbreak and the number continues to grow. Sending many countries into lockdown to try and get ahead of the spread of this virus. At this stage, an end to the pandemic is unclear and to a large degree an ever-changing target.
This virus is rather stealthy as it can move from person to person without being detected. Hitching a ride in seemingly healthier people so it can find its way throughout the entire population. Taking down the more vulnerable and striking without any warning.
We find ourselves simultaneously not knowing what the future may bring. For some this has meant a total loss of income while others may have to simply work from home. The effects of the virus go beyond the medical issues presented to medical professionals around the world. The effects sit within our economy, our mental health, and our physical health.
Not all hope is lost.
Though we have found ourselves in a situation where we need to social distance as well as stay at home to prevent the spread of the virus, we still have proactive things we can do. As members of the global community, it is in our interest, both for ourselves and others, to stick to the guidelines brought forward by the World Health Organisation and many governments around the world.
Take a step back and give yourself a moment to acknowledge that by staying at home, maintaining distance, you have given the medical professionals a chance to overcome COVID-19 and allowed those more vulnerable to live another day. As a member of the vulnerable community, I would like to say thank you to everyone doing their part in flattening the curve. By being a part of the solution, you have given way to hope. As a species, we have overcome some tremendous adversities and together we can continue to brighten our future.
Via community collaboration, I believe that we will be able to get each other through this rollercoaster of a journey. Using our networks and technology we can stay connected.
More and more activities are surfacing online as to what we can do at home to help with the effects of being isolated and perhaps not having the human contact we are typically used to. We here at Surviving Together are working to connect you as a business or individual with people or companies which you need in order to make it to the other side of this obstacle. Our videos cover what we require as business owners in order to move forward as well as focusing on the individual as a whole. Each video may help you connect with the right people or you may simply find valuable information about how to cope with isolation and the incredible stress that comes with a pandemic.
If you would like to take part in the global community striving to bring co-operation between individuals and businesses amidst the COVID-19 pandemic then send us an email to find out just how you can assist or send in any ideas you may have.
